We start our amazing journey with a muster of NSW and Queensland members at Pheasants Nest Mobil Service Station at 8.30am for a convoy drive down the Hume Hwy to Bright, picking up our ACT members at Yass on the way. After pausing at the Dog on the Tucker Box we cross into Victoria and then take the twisting roads through Yackandandah to the beautiful township of Bright. Nestled below the towering granite bluff of Mt Buffalo the surrounding mountains have just been wracked by horrendous bushfires. This has been a terrible year for tourism in this part of Victoria with most of the scenic mountains on fire and closed to public access. Now that the fires in this district are contained, I thought it would be nice if we helped to inject a little income back into the town. We are booked into one of the best Motels in the district, the Bright High Country Inn with dinner at 7.30pm.
