COLES BAY - SWANSEA - RICHMOND - HOBART
We leave Coles Bay and follow the Tasman Hwy to Swansea and then visit Kate’s Berry Farm - One of Tasmania’s little treasures with a view clear across Great Oyster Bay to The Hazards range. From spring to autumn, fresh raspberries, strawberries and others picked the same day are available, and at any time of year you can buy ice cream, jams and even wine made from the berries.
Heading south from Swansea, winding down through the beautiful East Coast to Orford. Laze, stroll, paddle, swim or surf at beautiful Shelley or Spring Beach. Walk the clifftop track from East Shelley to Spring Beach for superb sea and island views. Lunch on superb east coast seafood with friendly locals at the popular Orford fish and chip shop before sampling the wines of Darlington Vineyard, overlooking Maria Island.
Then we will visit Historic Richmond – where time seems to have stood still, galleries and boutiques sell a wide range of quality arts and crafts and Georgian warehouses now house lovely tearooms and restaurants.
We will then move into Hobart where we have been invited to join the MINI Garage in Hobart for afternoon tea before heading to our stop over at Cosy Cabins Bowen Park at Risdon for three nights giving us time to even have a look around Hobart and enjoy the shops at Salamanca. (note the famous markets are open here tomorrow 8.30 am – 3.00pm)
